Has anyone noticed that Normalize in BC is not the same as in SF5B? Is this the same version or is BC picking up an older one? Some of the options, like Scan, are not available in Normalize in BC.

yes. These are known bugs, SF knows about them, and are working on a patch for it and the other bugs.

I have probably been the most vocal about this and other bugs in the Batch Converter.

Well, there's no reason to 'bug' them anymore as long as they are fixing it.

I'm not sure what problems they have discovered, but, I'll add mine to make sure.
1) It wants to make everything a 32bit file unless I specifically select customize for 44k16bit
2) Plug-in chain used to work, but, now when I string 2 or 3 I get a maximum distorted file as an output.
Thanks

YEs I just noticed today that normalize is wacky. You can get it to work, but, not with the same settings you used in SF5

Hello,
We are aware of the 32-bit float issue, and are working on a fix for it. We've been unable to reproduce your issue with the Audio Plug-in Chainer creating distored output when multiple effects are used. Can you provide more specifics (plug-ins used, settings, etc..)?

I think I may found another one. If the Accoustic Mirror impulse has been packaged into a preset, it seems that the Mirror does nothing in the batch tool.

It may also be my imagination.

Hmmm... I thought it was my imagination, too. I think there are some cases where Batch Converter doesn't do anything.

Anyone know if the fix has been posted?

It's been about a month or more that I complained to SF. They told me they are preparing a patch but it has yet to appear. But they sure found time to write a dumb Acid-like program for kids to play with. Thier priorities are messed up.

This post will probably be deleted.

There's also an issue with converting 24bit stereo wav files to 16bit stereo wav files (simply truncating).
If I select 16bit stereo pcm as an output (no pluginchain) there's a 50% chance that the wav file comes out as distorted garbage.
The workaround was to use the sounicfoundry dither in the plugin chain.

Also it would be cool to be able to write root notes and other sampler settings in the audiofile using the batch converter

Thank you
Robert

That's good but I wonder if you've noticed that Batch Converter does not overwrite existing files? If I run a batch, then decide to rerun it, I have to delete the output files to write the new ones. If I don't delete them, the old ones remain intact. This also seems to happen when I select "Same as source file."

It also appears that some of the plug-ins do not work in Batch Converter, or do not work in the way they do in SF5. Is this because they do not run in the same order? I've seen "prescan pass 1" and "prescan pass 2" run before "converted," which makes me wonder.
