Situation: win2K 512 ram 10000rpm scsii drives external Opcode USB for audio new install of acid pro 2.0d build 168 Problem - I can listen to files from the explorer window, but when I double-click the files to the timeline, wave forms are not drawn, and will not play back. Tracks are created when I double click, but no playback. I have found a few others with a similar problem (on this forum) but no definitive answers to the problem. Any ideas. |

How do you have your settings in Acid and Windows Multimedia Control Panel? |

1) within SF, under "options", the playback is set for "USB Audio Device". 2)under windows multimedia control panel: "sound playback" = USB Audio Device (record also USB audio device) and MIDI = MS GS wavetable... 3) I have both Sound Forge 5.0 and Vegas Audio installed on the same drive, and they both work perfectly. This problem exists even if Acid is the only program (other than background programs) running. Any ideas? |

Have you actually drawn out an event in the time line. Merely double clicking or droping a loop on the the track view does not draw an event. You have to "paint" events on the track. Peter |

Hello again, Make sure your settings in Acid 2.0 are at 44,100 16Bit for the sound card because that's what most loops are recorded at. Then after you put the loop in the track view and paint in a wave form, then make sure you select an audio output device for each track, just to the left of the mute button. Try that. See ya, Rockit |

OK, here goes. This is very,VERY difficult for me. Having spent most of my time (lots of time) in vegas and SF, I was used to just double-clicking to add wave files. It's been a while since I used Acid and I forgot about the "Drawing" part of file insertion. That was the problem. Sorry I took so much of Y'alls time on this. BTW, if you import a wave file at a higher sample rate or bit rate that your sound card doesn't support, the wave file will still display but not play back. That caused me some confusion a few weeks ago. Anywhere I placed the cursor, the meters would show the amplitude for that spot, but would not play back. Interesting. |
