Subject:How can I change the Acid Disk I/O Priority?

I had discovered that Acid Pro 7 always acces disk files (audio tracks) using a "Low" Disk I/O Priority in both Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Due to that, other process can "interrupt / click" the playback when they become active, by example Antivirus process or Windows Explorer.

All the information that I had found about Disk I/O Priority, talks about "you can call a Windows API / Function" to change the Disk I/O Priority. But I can't change it for Acid (of course, is not open source).

Any body knows any way to set this Disk I/O Priority?

Disk I/O Priority is different that Process Priority, so changes in Process Priority does not modify the Disk I/O Priority.

That's why many knowledgable people have long suggested that Antivirus programs should be disabled on DAW workstations.

Back in my Pro Tools LE days, that (among other processes) was on the list of items that should be disabled according to Digidesign Customer Support.

I suggest you do a "google search" on "Windows DAW Tweeks" or similar questions.
