Thanks SF!! Acid 3.0B seems to have increased performance tremendously on both my win98 and win2k systems. Many bug fixes. I encourage everyone to download it. |

Tried to install it on my laptop and it hosed the whole system. Left me with no icons on the desktop at all. No Win Start at the bottom left. Never have I seen, or any of my techs seen anything like that! I need to reinstall Win 2k and rebuild again. Anyone else? Jim |

I've seen that exact thing happen on a Compaq Laptop. when I tried to put a toolbar on the Startbar, The whole desktop and all icons were gone, had to restore the system from CD Recovery disk. I've managed to get it working a little better I deleted all effects an all tracks in the song and got the CPU down to 96% and played the whole 5Min. song with no skips BTW: The same song in Acid 2.0 only uses about 65% CPU Rockit |

I still have a project that stutters a bit, but nothing like it was before. Still a work in progress I guess, as is the truncation of a track with reverb at the end of a project. (At least they covered it in the new release notes.) Noticed the Track View's grid looks a little different. Kinda nice on the eye. I like it. And I *really* like having the F9 and F9 combos back. wow! it's a huge improvement for me too. little things that were annoying have been polished like crazy - like, screen redraws are about 100x faster, it doesn't gap and skip when i scroll or adjust the loop points anymore, overall the interface feels much more crisp and responsive. cpu usage seems about the same to me but i haven't had much trouble with that from the other version either. my machine is 1.4ghz too so i'm kinda spoiled that way. plugins and stuff that used to act a little strange all seem to be in perfect order now.. midi sync also seems to be working properly..i need to test that more though.. overall i'm very impressed..whoo!! great job sonic guys.. |

Hey I noticed too that rendered projects are now much louder and more accurately reflect their associated project's volume, even the ones with effects and busses. This wasn't mentioned in the release notes though. Iacobus |
