Subject:Vocal Repair Posted by: jsburke Date:8/1/2001 9:04:19 PM I have a great vocal take that I want to use, but it contains some plosives and misc. wind noise that I just can't get rid of. Originally, it had a _lot_ of wind noise, but I cleaned 90% of that up with EQ; unfortunately, some of the wind noise stubbornly remains. I have several different noise redux plug-ins, including SF's. I've tried setting after setting, tweaked for hours, to no avail. I tried going back to the original recording and trying noise redux before I removed the wind noise, but still no. Anyone know how to remove this noise? I'll try anything.

I just find the spike of the waveform, zoom in all the way, find the nearest 0 axis point, select the section and either cut out the spike or use the Volume option in the Special menu and cut it way down so it's no longer a spike. By the way, there's a great article on recording vocals in this months issue of Electronic Musician, also there's a great review of Vegas Audio. Check it out!
