OT: messed up my folder open assosiating settings

Hi,

I stupidly went and messed around with settings without doing a restore point first.

What I wanted to do was print a file directory of a folder that contained songs I commonly use in my wedding videos.
I followed the steps online from a couple of posts that had a way to do it.

1. control panel - Folder options.
2. file types - file folder - advanced.
3. change it to read print file directory listing
4. go into your registry to change something in here [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Shell
At that point I stopped because I didn't want to mess with the REG.
Then when I went to open a folder it would not open it but start playing a song in winamp.

I read a fix from microsoft on how to reset your association back to open.
Which was go into the same settings but change the command to open with explorer.exe
It worked as far as opening them but what it does is open a new window each time I hit a sub folder.
How do I get it back to just open in the same window?
Please help!

And yes I know...... I should have done a restore point. I usually always do.
Todd

Can anybody help me on this?
It's not the simple fix that I found which was the check box in folder options that reads... open in same window.
It was already checked and yet it's still opening up in a new window for each new subfolder.
