Vegas with BFC2000 USB problem

Hello, I purchased the Behringer BFC2000 to use with Vegas Pro 8. I downloaded the white page about using BFC2000 with Vegas. I have had a horrible time trying to get the USB driver loaded. I keep getting USB device not recognized. I have an ADK Pro computer with XP Pro service pack 3. The computer has several USB ports, I tried them all. I have a Hubble USB/Midi box, so I tried getting it set up on this box's USB port. The driver install worked, but I could not get the latest ver 1.1.1.1 driver loaded. I did get the Behringer BCONTROL driver but the USB error pops up intermittently. Anyway, I started following the white page for Vegas. When I go to preference and click on Midi it shows the Hubble but not the BFC2000. Also the virtual BFC program which I right click on to select BFC2000 but it doesn't show up. The Hubble does. I follow all the instructions for setting up in mackie control status, etc, but I can't get the BFC to control annything in vegas. I think my problem is with the USB Port. I was wondering if anyone on here has gotten the BFC to work on a XP Pro machine? BTW the BFC firmware is updated.

If you're having trouble using the instructions in the white paper you might like to try using the instructions here instead.

It's an old page I put up a long time ago (before Sony published their White Paper) and it covers the same things as the WP, but it may be that you are missing a step somewhere and seeing a differently worded set of instructions might get you to where you need to get to.

If I were you I would not attempt to use the extra complication of the USB/MIDI converter - it doesn't gain you anything in this situation and just gives you one more opportunity for something to go wrong. Simpler to just connect the BCF2000 directly to the PC via USB.

Best of luck
