I have a tri boot machine with 3 diffrent os on them and the pc code is diffrent in each os. How do i get soundforge installed into each os? Do i just keep regestering online for all 3 or will that nullify my regestration from the past installation. Thanks, Keith |

Keith, I just created a dual boot machine with WinME & WinXP(RC1). You will have to register each SF app like you did the first time. You will receive a new authorization code even if it is still on the same physical hard drive. I received the WinXP(RC1) CD ROM a couple of days ago. So far, so good with all but one of the SF apps. Vegas Video 2.0g, ACID3.0, SF5.0b, & Batch Converter 5.0 all installed and perform as on my WinME OS. Except, the Video Capture 2.0e tool will not install. It requests "Directx 8.0 or later" to be installed. The odd thing is WinXP has the latest Direct 8.1 component already included with the OS. SF will need to do a minor update to the Video Capture tool so it will recognize a newer Directx version. That is one SF app that is not XP compatible at this time. Otherwise, I really like XP. I found I am getting a 14%-18% cpu performance increase over WinME. Also, using the latest Delta 66/WDM drivers I am able to max out the effective latency settings (2msec) without dropouts, while playing and recording DXi softsynths/samplers in realtime using SONAR 1.02. I could only achieve (8msec) latency in WinME using the same WDM drivers without dropouts. Billy Buck |

That seems Great But the Problem Is If i do that then I have registered 3 times and if i wipe the whole machine (im going to do That soon) then that will make 6 regestrations with the same product each. Arnt they going to suspect piracy and cut me off from regestering the product? And if so what then?? By the way 2000-pro gives me the best performance to date with the products. Keith |

Keith, I have re-registered my SF apps a number of times myself, via the internet, without any problems. In fact, I have ACID 3.0 and SF5.0 registered three times myself. Twice on the same physical computer on different partitions(my dual boot DAW) and also on my Win98 "internet" computer, which I am using now. All for my own personal use of course. If you ever do have a problem registering over the internet, you can always call the SF customer support and they can manually authorize your product after you verify the serial number and you identify your particular situation. Do not fear re-registration! Re-registration is your friend! And so are we. We understand that these things happen (that one, pesky laptop with the bad hard drive, etc.), so if you need to reinstall, don't worry about it. Just give our toll-free number a call and we'll get you going again again. |
