Subject:Export regions, batch job.. script maybe??

I posted this in the Vegas video section, but since it's specifically an audio and scripting issue, it makes sense to post here as well. I've a rather simple, but not so simple task I'm trying to accomplish with lots of audio files. So far the only two solutions both involve exporting the files from Vegas and finishing the work in Logic or Digital Performer (both in Mac), but if it could all be done in Vegas or Soundforge, that would be wonderful! It's a multitrack project in Vegas: six stereo tracks (88.2, 24bit), with their necessary noise reduction and EQ effects, going to six busses A thru F. I then render multichannel wav64 files from the six busses. Right now, this is where I stop using Vegas then have to boot into the Mac and use Logic or DP because I need to cut these single multichannel files into smaller pieces, as Vegas has no "strip silence" or any auto threshold-based slicing. Most DAWs can do this. Logic can then export the newly created regions and do sequential naming. Where Logic falls short is it can only export an 8 channel (7.1 surround) wave file, and I need 12 channels. What I envision is a script to automatically export regions on a Vegas timeline. I can select each group of 6 wave files and create a region for each group. There are about 75 groups all together, which doesn't sound like much to just export by hand...except each one of those 75 groups will be sliced into as many as 75 individual clips. Exporting each "clip" manually could be very tedious. What I want to do is make all my cuts (the 6 wave files are grouped, then sliced), create and name regions, then batch export those regions with the filename matching the name I gave to the specific region being exported. I've seen some cool uses of scripts in the Vegas community, so hopefully someone can help with this need. Thanks in advance! |
