I was wondering if its possible with SoundForge, to record to a file all ready containing data, and have it play that data to you while your recording. Case in point. I have a hard disk recording unit, and I have drums, guitar, and bass all recorded and mixed in a file, and I want to add vocals to that file, except I can't playback the guitar, drums, bass and record the vocals at the same time. Without burning the track with just the instraments to a cd and listening to that at the same time. But when I listen to the cd the timing will be off just because of human error. So I need the computer to play the instaments through SoundForge while I record vocals over them. Please help!!! -Ryan rorourke@ureach.com |

If you have the full version of Sound Forge, it comes with Vegas Audio LE which allows you to do multitrack recording with up to eight tracks playing simultaneously. Sound Forge itself is a stereo audio editor, and as such, is not designed for multitrack recording. |
