" clicking on the event and erroneously open an Fx you don't want open"
or the event pan/crop.

I wish there was a way to get rid of them. I typically have lots of very small clips and many times in my haste I click on one of those icons by mistake. A right-click menu access to them would suit me very well.

You can disable the FX and Pan/Crop icons via the View menu and select both tools via the Event's right-click menu.

I have heard Vegas referred to as suffering from "iconitis" :)

Perhaps the answer is a global switch that disables all those icons that live inside events waiting for us to click them by mistake?

Is this Vegas 10 only? Can't see these options under my view menu - Vegas 9e 64bit.

This should work in any Vegas version though I don't have V9 64 bit available. Just proofed V8 where it works.

I use a localized version and I miss the english term of the menu item. Anyway - You'll find it in the View menu below "Waveform and Frames". You could also use CTRL+SHIFT+C to disable and enable the Events icons.

Personally, I have nothing against the Event Buttons (this is how they are called in the View Menu). However, what should be done at last is give all FX icons (on the event, track, video bus, and media bin levels) the consistent look:

- grayed out: no FX applied
- green: FX present and active
- red-crossed green: FX present, but inactive

It's great to read how the quality of Vegas has finally been recognised by more people in the industry.

Similarly, I enjoyed it when the Boris webinar host made several complimentary comments about some Vegas features during his presentation.

*and The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated. Just to name a few.*

Oh yeah, all the big names are using Vegas. LOL.

BTW, brush up on your English skills. You live in Ohio, but use words like a person from another country trying to type our language.

"brush up on your English skills" ... wow, way to make things personal Gates, and I love the "our" language. Is this site only viewable in the U.S.?

I suppose I should give you credit for being able to come off as both hypercritical and bigoted in such a brief post, thats almost an accomplishment.

Thanks for the original post HyperMedia.

I tolerate broken English posts from people whose first language is not English because they are making an effort. When someone whose first language is English posts in English then they should take the trouble to use good grammar and clean up typos which we all make from time to time. Otherwise it is just plain laziness. Well written posts are easier to read and lead to less ambiguities, whether read by native English speakers or foreigners alike.

Are you people serious???

I can't believe we have people here trying to conduct English lessons... much less criticize a post because it's not quite write grammatically speaking!?!

Please... get a life will ya..... or at least get back on track to the thread!!
Oh and Peter.... your above sentence is a run-on and lacks a comma.

Now it SCS time to really focus on these bugs and more efficient workflow and feature set. And approve the Timeline

I two think it time for Vegas to approve the Timeline.

How many times do you need to return to the same thread and point out the same thing? Can't think of anything better to do on a Friday night? Is this why you're such an angry little man? There are people who can help with your problem you know.

Looks like we're both home on a Friday night with nothing better to do.

Please, save me from your false indignation.

"was this directed at me? I am feeling guilty. sorry. :)"

My comments were general and I was not passing judgement on the English in any post in this thread.

If Grazie's slang is intentional and he doesn't mind losing his readers then that is OK by me.
