Nested files give Vegas a lot of power, and I use them in all my projects. But lately (in both Vegas v9 & v10) I've been experiencing weird crashes during rendering. I may have narrowed it down a bit---I'm hoping someone else out there has a minute to check this out.
Download these 4 tiny files, 2 for Vegas v9 & 2 for Vegas v10 (files are named with version number in them). Put them all in a folder.

(link is good for 30 days).
The "Child" file is a 5 second clip of Vegas-generated color bars, video only. Close the "Child" file, then open the "Parent" file. Its only media is the "Child" file, which is nested in it. Now here's the test:
Close the files, and start a new veg file. Now drag the "Parent" file into this new, blank timeline as a nested veg file (it's a "double-nested" file, if there is such a word). Play the timeline and see if Vegas crashes. On my system, Vegas v9 & v10 64-bit crash. Under Vegas v9 32-bit, however, this double-nesting works fine. (I don't have v10 32-bit installed.)
While this problem seems a little esoteric, it's really not. For years I've used double-nested files like this, it's a very useful way to organize my edits. I would be much obliged if someone could confirm or deny this bug.
