It's still there. Just click the "View" menu item at the top of the Vegas window, then make sure that media Manager is ticked. If it isn't, select it, then drag the window that opens and dock it to the place you want to keep it.

Thanks Russ but when I click it the message is there is no media manager installed. Do you think I have to reinstall or could it not have gotten downloaded? Very strange.
Thanks,
Dennis

Hi Dennis,

If you upgraded from V9, then it should still be there. I have a recollection that Media Manager uses MS SQL Server....though I might be thinking of other software. Just check that SQL Server is installed on your PC. Other than that, you might be able to do a custom install and check that Media Manager is installed along with the Vegas 10 software.

Cheers

Make sure Media Manager is enabled. Options / Preferences / General / Enable Media Manager (requires restart).

I believe Media Manager was a separate download and optional install for V8 and V9. I don't see it as a download at all for V10.

Is it possible it is no more?

Bob.

G'day Bob,

It is definitely there. I have V10 open now and Media Manager docked alongside Media Generators, Transitions, Explorer etc. This is a good thread because I've never actually used it before and by investigating this, I've just had a bit of a play with it - and I like it!

Cheers

Hey Bob thanks for the info! I went to the Sony site and downloaded the old media manager for version 8 which is 4.2. I installed it and everything works fine now. It'd been so long since I installed the new version and went to a new machine that I forgot that this was the version. Seems like a new one should have come with version 10.
Thanks again...... Dennis

I'm struggling with media manager in version 10 as well. I used it with previous versions, have (at least, so I thought) installed it with version 10 but cannot seem to be able to get it to work. It's checked in preferences, but when I go to the view menu and and select media manager a blank window opens up with no menu bar, options or anything other than a handle to drag it and an arrow to make it full screen.

Here it is when opened via the view menu:

and when dragged into the tabbed area. Note lack of menu bar or anything useful.

Any suggestions? Should I get my VP8 installation disc out and install the older version of media manager to see if that works?
