Subject:Render Multiple Outs (EZDrummer) to audio?

Morning,

So - I have been dabbling with Toontrack's EZDrummer in AP7 after viewing a cool tutorial about using EZ using it's multiple outputs. I think I have the steps correct to get the "EZ" busses showing in AP7:

1. Insert the soft synth (ez drummer).
2. A a bus appears in the mixer console for the synth.
3. Right click on this bus and choose the option (Insert/Remove Dfh sampler outputs).
4. Add/Remove as many "EZ" busses as required.

I have the busses appearing and now can deal with separate pieces of the kit (insert effects etc)...so far so good but:

If I choose File->Render As and select to render each track to a separate file - does the MIDI data (being routed from EZ to it's "soft busses" get rendered to audio as well?

Just looking for the easiest way to render the entire project to separate stems dfor possible transfer between sites/DAWS.

Appreciate any comments.

Cheers!

VP

IIRC, the MIDI will get rendered if routed to a soft synth but will *not* be rendered as separate tracks; they will be mixed as one as shown in the track list window even if they're separated for mixing purposes via the Mixing Console.

In order to get them separated, you'd have to solo them in the Mixing Console and then render or simply place the MIDI data on separate tracks (which would make things a bit more unsightly).

Sonoma's KitCore comes with ACID Pro 7, BTW. For those of you that are curious, it can split its pads to separate sub busses as well using the same technique.

So....the technique about just allows me to muck about by "effecting" each part of the kit...(comp/verb) on the snare, comp on the kick etc..but does not allow me any method of actually creating a wave file with just the kick on it - unless that specific "EZ" buss is set to solo?

I will mess around a bit and try a few things...

Cheers,

I'm trying to attempt the same thing. Can anybody remember if the feature to route Multi out VST's to multiple buss tracks was available in AP6 ?

Thanks

I think what you're talking about isn't stems, but "track rendering" or "track freezing". Stems are submixes of multiple tracks.

An example would be a session containing 64 tracks that were routed to 16 busses and mixed down to make 16 "Stems" for post production.

No - actually - I am talking about rendering single tracks and rendering stems...which in my case could be a request for a single rendered track to a complete bussed 16 track stereo mixdown of an entire drum kit.
