Subject:Recording from cassette to LINE-IN?!

I am trying to record a cassette I made onto my PC. I have it hooked up through the Line-In on the back of my Awe64 Sound Blaster. I can hear the tape playing on my computer, but when I open SoundForge and Monitor it, it isnt monitoring anything. Can someone PLEASE help me? I have recorded like this before and I can't remember what I did the last few times. Also, If anyone knows of a program I can download to get around this, that would be fine too. I used to have one that let me record it as a .wav file, which is what I want to do, but I had to format months ago and lost the program and can't remember where I got it or what it was called. Also, two other things i've noticed while trying to fix my problem. In the Control Panel, Multimedia settings, the RECORDING button is greyed out. Also, I tried recording sound like this with Windows Sound Recorder and it doesn't read it either. PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!

Preferably, email me at: kidkaz@kidkaz.com

Instead of going though a lot of hassel trying to figure your problem, in my opinion the fastest way would be to uninstall your Creative drivers, cold reboot, reinstall drivers.

If after that, if your record button is is still greyed out, time for serious trouble shooting. IRQ's, background programs etc.

I was having the same problem... but i got it...

Instead of plugging it into the line-in thing, just plug it into the record one. Then just hit record. But for mine, the volume was too loud, so i had to resort to using the creative recorder witht he audio reduction on... it works great!
