Subject:16 -24 or 32 bit?

I don't know the difference in a wav file from 16, 24 or 32 bit.

If your soundcard does not record at 24-bit you can convert your 16-bit file to 32-bit float for processing to maintain the sound quality, then dither down to 16 for CD-R or mp3.

If you don't plan on doing much to your files beyond simple editing, you can get away with staying in 16-bit. If you do extensively work on your 16-bit files you can degrade the sound to the point of distortion! I have done this!

And, DO NOT use the DIRECT MODE! It will hasten the degredation!
