Changing Track FX crashes Vegas Pro 10a 32 & 64

Just installed Vegas Pro 10a in three of our studios. We use Vegas mainly for audio. There are some strange new issues in Vegas 10. Making an edit to an audio track while in playback will cause the audio to drop out for a second. This never happened on previous versions. (We have been using Vegas since ver 6)
Most concerning though in the fact that if we rearrange (or sometimes delete) plugins on the track Vegas gives us a Vegas has stopped working window. I've reproduced this in all three rooms. Different computers and different audio interfaces. I can open a blank project. insert an audio track, delete the noise gate. Move the compressor in front of the EQ and pick a preset and the program will crash. Not every time but at least 50% of the time. Can't believe something this simple wasn't caught in testing. I guess we are the beta testers now. If it happens more than once or twice it will cause a Blue Screen.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Figured out how to fix the audio dropout problem.
Unchecking Enable Track Buffering in Options/Preferences/Audio Device will stop that from happening.
I was actually doing that as the fix for my old Waves plugins and noticed it fixed the audio dropout issue too. Makes sense though.

you can fix the dropouts but it still crashes when changing FX. this only happens with audio plugins, and in my case most often when playing around with a compressor type plugin. they actually crash SV EVERY TIME within seconds of launiching the app. i use W7 64bit. SV9 worked perfectly fine on this system :((((
