Subject:Korg Nanoseries Posted by: djXS Date:10/17/2010 12:44:44 AM I have the Korg Nanokey at the moment and I'm using that to control the various soft synthesizers I utilize and I'm going to purchase the Nanopad and NanoKontrol. Can I use the Nanokontrol to control the volume and solo/phase buttons in the mixing console? I don't want to purchase this if it doesn't but it would be nice to have physical control over the mixing console. Do I even need the Nanopad since I have the keyboard?

I do this with my M-Audio Oxygen v2. (NOTE: I'm referring to ACID Pro here; not sure offhand if the "lighter" versions of ACID support the feature.) Technically, no, you don't need the nanoPAD but each device in the nanoseries has its place. For example, one would use the nanoKEY to bang out a melody while using the nanoPAD to bang out a drum track. You can, of course, use the nanoKEY to also lay down a drum track but it doesn't "feel" quite as intuitive. (That and the fact the nanoPAD has an X-Y pad for rolls, flams and generally mangling samples.) HTH, Iacobus
