Yeah, I was looking for the vob file too. The website says watch the DVD or play with the examples on your PC. But from what other threads say the seminar series is lame anyway. Maybe if enough of us complain they'll let us swap for one of the other freebies.

"But from what other threads say the seminar series is lame anyway."

But you don't actually know this for a fact.

"Maybe if enough of us complain they'll let us swap for one of the other freebies."

It would seem that you have absolutely no right to complain seeing as how you did not choose this freebie nor have you even seen it.

I found the seminar series to be helpful in explaining the new features of Vegas v10, particularly the finer points of track grouping and the new OFX interface.

So far, the parts I have viewed have been very informative.

I have noticed that, IIRC, two parts just seemed to end abruptly - before the speaker has finished his last word; The one on audio FX comes to mind. I'm not at my main PC with the files at mo so can't confirm this.

It seems to hapen,, though, whether played via VLC player or via a web browser.

I have managed (with some difficulty) to download the Vegas 10 Seminar Series, but how does one actually run it after unzipping? The intro page has the list of topics, but none seem to actually work. I have the Seminar Vegas 8 discs, and they were very helpful - so I should like to get this new version up and running. Thanks. Mike.

I'm finding the Seminar Series 10 very informative especially the closed caption section and best of all the Multi-Cam's Restore to separate tracks! Now I don't have to manually relocate the separate camera shots to their original tracks. Just finding this new feature alone is worth the download. ((;

After un-zipping the files, open the TrainingForComputerViewing folder and launch _Instruction.html

You should get the seminar series toc and hotlinks to the topics:

The seminar is OK and has some useful info...I'm glad I didn't pay $85 dollars for it!!!!

Thanks Byron, "After un-zipping the files, open the TrainingForComputerViewing folder and launch _Instruction.html" is helpful. I had glanced at the individual .wmv's & wasn't impressed... I'll take another look following your inx. Hopefully I can find it useful too.
Thanks

Just FYI,
They do go into in depth explanation of the Closed Caption and 3D features. If someone is going to use either of these two features heavily, this down load may be very helpful.

I wasn't planning on using the 3D feature, after watching the tutorial it got me curious and may just try and play around with it. I'll have to pick up a pair of Red/Cyan glasses first. (:

I agree that there is some "dead" dialogue space at the beginning of some of the tutorials.

Sorry John I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. On the 11th @ 3:20pm I upgraded from 8c to 10a & chose the Seminar Series. I did "look before I lept" reading topic "139.95 USD Upgrade Pricing Through 11.30" where several members recommended the seminar series. I had problems downloading the seminar file with Chrome like others have reported. @ 6:06 it finished downloading using IE8. I took a quick look at the individual wmv files. I didn't see any order to it or a way to burn a DVD which the product description says it has. I then read the posts about the seminar that started showing up after that. I paraphrased some of them in my post above.

Thanks to Byron K's post below I'll watch it the way it was intended...

I hope I do find it useful, as you seem to have. I would still have liked an easy to burn DVD though... I spend enough time in front of these monitors.

Why don't you guys get hold of a download manager?
U don't use a browser to download 2Gb files.
And the download manager is free, to boot.
FlashGet is the name.

I find the seminar really useful and a nice additional gift..My only gripe is the music - not only is it terrible, but the bass sound playing the sort of "theme" is out of tune! Makes me grind my teeth every time I hear it.

Agreed completely.
In these kind of presentations, there seems to be a a tendency, a trend, to litter evereything with this nonsense "music".

Yeah, the music is a bit lame.
