VP 10 selective prerenders

I am going from V8 to V 10 so this may be the same in V9 but when doing a selective prerender it defaults to "do not letterbox" ...is there an option to uncheck this for good?
Also it defaults to "Video for Windows (avi)"...with HDV I would want HDV 1080 wouldn't I?
Thanks very much,
Randy

I just tried it quickly and it seems that the format selection (i.e. HDV instead of AVI) honores the last selected value but the "do not letterbox" option defaults to checked all the time.

I don't think I would ever want to stretch the picture so it would be convenient to keep that unchecked.
Regarding the avi selection I had several instances open so maybe you're right about it being last selected. I was hoping someone could also tell me the best intermediate format (I think that's the right term...making a segment to use later in a master veg to go to DVD). When I did this in SD, avi was the best way but with HDV I'm not sure. I've been told HDV but I would like to make sure.
Thanks,
Randy
