In SF8, I was able to highlight a region, click on the Volume button, reduce the volume to 80% (for example), and the volume of the selected region would go down. In SF10, if I do the same thing, I get crossfade lines on the selected region (which never appeared when I was using SF10), and the volume on that region goes *up* rather than down. Any idea why or how to correct this? I can accomplish this simple task using the graphic fade, but I don't think I should have to. |

Click the "More" tab and select a linear fade, ( " X ") and set the Wet/Dry adj. to 100% wet. Yeah, SCS made some changes to that and other processes in SF-9. |

SF10 - Clicking on the "More" tab and selecting a Fade In ( " X " ) and a Fade Out ( " X " ) brings up the Window with a "Wet Gain (db)" and a "Dry Gain (db)" option ( defaulted at " 0.00 " and " -Inf. " respectively ) and neither of which offer percentage options. Even entering " 100.0 " in the " Wet Gain " automatically changes to " 6.00 " -- What am I missing? |

I get the same thing. Why doesn't this basic volume adjustment work in SF10? |

You can change the default fade in/out type and length a couple ways. The easiest is Options->Preferences->Editing. If you do a lot of in-phase operations like Volume, you'd be better served by a linear fade type on both fade in and fade out. If you don't want fades at all, just set both fade lengths to zero and Apply/OK. Wet and Dry Gain are currently only exposed in decibels. 0.0 dB wet and -Inf. dB dry with no fade in/out is equivalent to previous versions. J. |
