Hi all ,

I am trying to burn a 74 minute mix to CD from Soundforge 5. I recorded the mix to one large .wav file. What i want to do is insert a marker/break at the beginning of each track in SF5 so that when it is burned to CD each track within the mix has it's own number insted of 1 long 74 min track.
Is this possible in SF5 ?

Thanks.....

SG

I don't think it is, I never tried it, but I don't recommend it if your songs are supposed to be continuous. The burner app in SF5 will insert a 2-second gap between the tracks and there is no way around it except to use another CD burning application that will bur Disc-At-Once.

I already posted this as a response to another question, but here it goes again:

I'm sure it can be done in Sound Forge because I did it myself! The caveat: you have to do it by hand...

Just split the large mix in several wav files, one for each track. Make sure you cut it up where there's a zero-crossing. Label the files track01, track02 and so on. Burn the tracks on CD in the right order. You have to do it disk-at-once and make sure not to forget to disable the 2-second pause between tracks! Nero5 does this and I'm sure other burning programs have the same option.

A lot of manual work, but it gets the job done.

Succes, Bart

I've been doing it that way in Cool Edit for years but it's automated there. I just put in the markers, and tell it where to save, click a button and in a couple of minutes, it's all done!

Can SF do this?
