Hi there, just wondering if anyone is running Acid Pro 7 with Windows XP (Home) SP-1? I've got my PC just where I want it and all the programs I use run perfectly on Win XP SP-1 and I don't want to go to SP-2 or SP-3. The PC I use isn't connected to the internet so any added security isn't necessary. |

You probably need to weight this choice carefully - SP2 can be a minimum requirement for many apps to even install. And while I understand your need to keep things under control...going to SP2 might be the difference between even getting it installed - never mind using it. There is a LOT more to SP2 than just added security - it was a wholesale update to many of the key pieces of the OS. But I know for a fact that AP7 requires a number of .NET libraries and other more modern stuff than SP1. I would not be surprised if you get peppered with messages about missing this and that. And of course to get these libraries in play - you must be running SP2 at a minimum. But hey - if you can get Acid Pro 7 to install and work without this stuff - good on you. If it were me - get right up to SP3 and enjoy your Acid Pro without incident. Cheers, VP |

I'd definitely go for at least SP2. It has countless enhancements and improvements. My systems are much more stable with it than they were with SP1. |
