Any easy way to delete clips from the hard drive at the same time as deleting them from the timeline? If it's in help file I missed it. Thanks.

I haven't found a good solution. Vegas does this very well. In Vegas you can delete unused media from the media pool and the hard drive at the same time. ACID needs something like this. Right now the best you can do is save the project to a new folder with the "copy all media" option and delete the original folder. This will copy over just what is being used.

i find it frustrating that you can't shift-del while in AP. makes no sense.

Thanks, I guess copying to a new folder is the best idea. Not eing able to delete directly from Acid is a real omission.

Try this: (Always make a back-up)!
Go into Tools,
Select Remove all unused clips,
Save the session as a Acid.zip (ACID Project with Embedded Media) session in the same folder.
Go into that same folder and delete everything but the Acid.zip session.
Open the Acid .zip session and save as a ACID Project File in that same folder.

Not eing able to delete directly from Acid is a real omission.

Not an omission, but a safe guard against users deleting their loop libraries.

If we made it "easy" to remove content from the project and the harddrive, we would get buried with "where did my loops go" tech support.

Regardless, there is a way to do this in ACID:

1. Open the Track Properties view for a track.
3. Locate the media file you want to remove and delete.
4. Right click on the file.
5. Select "Remove from project and delete file(s)".

There is no global command or clip pool, so you will have to do this one track at a time.

NOTE: There is no "file" to delete for MIDI, so this is only for audio.


I could not find this in the help or user's guide. I will bring it to our doc team's attention.

Peter,
I have always used this method in the past and it has worked as expected.

I have just reloaded a new system and completed configuring ACID 7.0e (W7 64-bit).

The "Remove from project and delete file(s)" is not working.

Any thoughts?
