I know you can use volume envelopes in ACID Pro. Is this the version of ACID you have? It's actually much easier to implement in version 3 (you can now apply an envelope across an entire set of events on a track) but still possible in version 2.

Thanks...I will look into that. Yes I am using ACID Pro 3, and VERY new at this app, so I am still learning all of the capabilities....not sure what you mean about envelopes...but can it be used to control multiple tracks?

Yes and no. :)

What I actually mean, is that you'll have to create a volume envelope for each track in the project and adjust them accordingly.

Thankfully, ACID Pro 3 lets you apply the envelope across the entire set of events in the track. Before, in ACID Pro 2, you had to make an envelope *for each event*, which was *really* tedious if you wanted the effect that you want.

To make a volume envelope appear for a track, click a track in the track list for your project, then right-click and choose "Insert/Remove Envelope>Volume." I believe you'll see a brown line running across your track in the track view. This is the envelope.

You can then add points to the envelope by right-clicking anywhere on the envelope and selecting, "Add Point." You can then take the point and drag it to the desired position.

By default, points snap to the grid just like events do, making it easy to line up envelope points with other points/events.

Note that an volume envelope point right at the center of an event horizontally represents 0.0 dB--no cut, no gain. If you drag the point up, you'll increase the volume (all the way up to 6.0 dB). Drag the point down, and you'll cut the volume (all the way down to -Inf. dB). Note also this is all applied post-fader.

There's more, but I'll leave the rest up to you. Use the keyword, "envelopes," in ACID's online help. There's a treasure trove waiting for you. :)

I usually just fade the mixed wav file instead of each individual track. much simpler that way.
