I seem to be the only one having trouble with the Get Media feature of Acid 3. When selecting the menu item, an attempt is made to find content. The result is always the same: no content found. I find this very strange cause I just got an email from sonic foundry that there is new content available via Get Media. Anyone got an idea what goes wrong and how to repair it?

If you have installed an update for Internet Explorer I would suggest that you go to start>settings>control panel>add/remove programs. Once there you should have the option to modify the installation of Internet Explorer. If you click on this button and then choose repair it should fix any damaged files that pertain to IE. If you are using the version that installs with the operating system then I would suggest updating to the latest version of IE. This has been know to help with some peoples issues regarding the Get Media function.

I also use a cable connection (as md does). I tried to fix the installation of IE but without results. Maybe it has something to do with win98lite. This program removes anything that's not absolutely needed to run windows. I use it to squeeze the last drop of performance out of my PIII 500. I was planning to reformat the drive and reinstall everything anyway, and I'll try without the win98lite. Maybe that will sort my problems out. I'll keep you informed...

I recently had the same problem, using the "Get Media" function with my DSL connection. It also affected my ability to stream media files from acidplanet.com. The suggestion by DaveP(SF) solved
the problem( Add/Remove Programs-IE5.5-Repair).
I am using WinME and Internet Explorer5.50 full install.
