Somebody please help!! After I installed my new sound card, my wav files don't line up with the tempo of the song. I use Acid music studio 7. I checked the beatmapping and switched the recording latency and everything else I could think of. Basically, my wav files are being recorded and or played back at a slower speed than the song actually is. Does anybody know how to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Hardware setup? What is the signal flow? e.g., Guitar > guitar effects processor > audio interface (Echo MiaMIDI) > ACID Pro 7 Guitar effects processor is hocked up via the 1/4" and S/PDIF ins. (A dry track is produced via S/PDIF while the other track is wet via 1/4".) Since I'm using S/PDIF, the MiaMIDI has to slave to a clock source digitally, in this case my effects processor, which has a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz. So then I go into the MiaMIDI's mixer and set the clock source's sample rate at 44.1 kHz and ensure that 44.1 kHz is consistent throughout. (Setting the ACID project at 44.1 kHz, etc.) How are you recording? Iacobus |

I have my guitar amp mic'd and the mic goes straight into my soundcard via an xlr to 1/4 to a 1/4 to 1/8 to the mic input jack on the soundcard. I used to not have any trouble with the synchronization but I put in a new soundcard and now this is happening. Maybe some soundcard settings need adjusting? Is there any other info you need? Thanks for the reply, by the way. |

Please fill out your system specs in your user profile. What was your old sound card? What is your new sound card? Are you using ASIO drivers with ACID? It sounds like your latency is very high and/or that you are using Mapper or Wave Classic drivers. You can adjust the over all record latency compenstation in the Preferences | Audio Devices tab. However, there is only so much that canbe compensated for. ASIO drivers communicate input to output latencies, so using ASIO should fix the problem. That said, some ASIO drivers don't do a very good job of this, so you may still have to adjust. YMMV. Peter Message last edited on9/10/2010 9:31:17 AM bypwppch. |
