Subject:Updating from Sound Forge 4.5 to 5 (help)

i've been using sound forge 4.5 for a while along with cubase vst/32. my friend told me 5 was out so i came to the page to update it but it ask me for a password. ?? i'm trying to update the program. my friend gave a his but it says it has been registered to many time(what ever that means) how do i go about using this program?

4.5 to 5.0 is not a free upgrade.
