Subject:Monitoring Guitar fx

Hello,

I have installed the IK multimedia Amplitude Fender plug in. When i bring it up in my track, i cannot hear the guitar fx when playing live. I can only hear & adjust the fx on playback. Is there a way i can hear & adjust the fx guitar as I am playing along with the tune (as I would using the SampleTank MIDI plug in)?

What version of ACID are you using? In ACID Pro 7.0 make you you have Input Monitor Mode: On after you ARM the track to record. This only works if you are using ASIO drivers so make sure that your Audio Device supports ASIO.

ACID requires that you use ASIO drivers in order to input monitor through track FX.

Make sure you have selected to use your audio interface's ASIO drivers.

Thanks! That's it. Only problem is that I get static & skipping. Can my project not handle 3 Sample Tank Soft Synths AND the Fender fx plug in?

What buffer size are you using with your audio hardware?

If it is too small, you can experiance static and skipping.

Audio Box USB ASIO 48K 24 bitrate

Buffer Settings 5ms (256 samples)

Is that too low? I may just scrap the plug in and use my fx pedals in.

You have to find a sweet spot concerning latency even with fast systems--not too low and not too high either. If I had a choice between a plug-in and the real thing, I'd go for the latter as it's just one more thing the system doesn't have to do.

Is your USB audio connected directly to the pc or is it connected to a USB hub?

If connected to a hub, try connecting directly to the pc.

Try doubling the latency and see if the problem goes away.
