Acid Pro file to Acid Studio file problem -ACID Product Family

Subject:Acid Pro file to Acid Studio file problem Posted by: theshatz Date:8/25/2010 3:44:02 PM I'd appreciate any help/advice anyone can give me about this. My brother has Acid Pro, and I have Acid Studio. (7.0.) We want to work on music together and send files back and forth. He started a song, and sent me the Acid file, and all of the media. When I try to open his file I get an error message, saying "The file can not be opened by the installed version of Acid music Studio, or the file may be corrupt. Please download and install the latest update of Acid Music Studio." I believe I have the latest version of Acid Music Studio, Version 7.0A (Build 157.) Does he have too advanced a version of Acid Pro, and if so, is there a way he can save his file down to my version? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Unfortunately No. You either have to buy ACID Pro or he needs to buy ACID Music Studio. You cannot collaborate with different versions of ACID. ~jr

(On the menu bar: File > Render As > "Save each track as a separate file" option towards the bottom.) This, of course, will make things a bit cluttered and unwieldy with all the files (and file sizes) that might be produced. Iacobus

There will be a warning about features that are not loadable - envelopes,etc. AMS versions proir to 8 cannot load ACID Pro 7 projects. Peter

Yes. you can open ACID Music Studio files in ACID Pro but not the other way around.

AMS 8 is based on ACID Pro 7.
