Hi. I can't open m4a files in the explorer window of my music studio 6. Went here: http://www.custcenter.com/cgi-bin/sonypictures.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=4787&p_created=1254146741&p_sid=n_gLSl8k&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MSwxJnBfcHJvZHM9Nyw0NzMmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PTIuNDczJnBfY3Y9JnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9bTRB&p_li=&p_topview=1 . Tried the fix, but the folder contained qt5plug.dll and qt5plug.LNG. Did it anyway. Still couldn't open m4a file -- Acid asked me if I wanted to open the file in its associated program. I don't. I want to open it in Acid so I can work with it. Any suggestions?

If the m4a file has DRM like from iTunes you can't open it in ACID. The DRM doesn't allow it. Convert the file to MP3 or WAV.

It's original music created in garage band. I didn't think it would be protected. ?

IIRC, the M4A file format is unprotected (which is what iTunes uses nowadays for their "iTunes Plus" format; they used to use the DRM-protected MP4 format.)

Could you open the M4A files before but now can't? Or is this something you've never tried before? Did you try a complete uninstall and reinstall of everything?
