Is it normal to have signal showing on the meters with no input signal applied? Just wondering. |

Make sure that you have the "Monitor" checkbox selected. If this is already selected, you probably need to turn up the volume in the Windows mixer, or in the mixer for your sound card. Ted |

hgfire, I think Ted misunderstood you, but I know what you mean. You know, if you right click your level meters, you have the option of choosing your db range of view. I'll bet yours is set for the full db range. I tend to get mysterious "non-input" readings at -78 db, but I always keep my meters set at the -12 to 0 db range where I can't see it. Whatever it is, it's so low it doesn't seem to affect the recordings I do. I don't have a definite answer on what it is. I always thought it was unavoidable system flutter. Anyone know? - pup |

It sounds to me like what you're seeing is the self-noise of your soundcard....adjusting the scale like a previous poster mentioned should eliminate the problem. Peace and Groove, Thump |
