Using CD Architect with Sound Forge 9.0 was a snap. Just select export to CD Architect, insert the required CD text, and presto, you could burn a CD without any problem. Only the tracks would be burned because only the tracks would be exported so none of the "non program" audio between the end of one track and the start of another would be burned to the disc. I have yet to find a way to to accomplish anything close to that with Sound Forge 10, and yes I have searched the knowledge base and the forum. I have tried every combination I can think of to burn CDs with the same simplicity, "cleanliness," and elegance that I could with CD Architect. If there is something I am missing, if there is a secret handshake known only to the anointed, If there is someone out there in Sound Forge/CD Architect land who knows how, I would greatly appreciate learning how to do it. Thanks! Bob |

Just save the tracks and load them into CDA manually. SoSoFo seems to be intent on trying to integrate the function of CDA into SF for some reason. Rather than just putting the whole app 'intact' into SF, the alternative implementation of DAO from the Event Editing window just does not compare. If they HAD to have it all in one app, I would have preferred to simply have CDA absorbed 'whole' and switched to as with WaveLab's CD Montage (or whatever it was called). But to remove the easy 'export to CDA' functionality was to my mind nothing but unhelpful. Oh if only they would put the effort into fixing/updating CDA rather than developing something that will never be as good as what it is presumably intended to replace.... Apart from the well-known shortcomings that could be addressed, CDA is possibly the easiest, most efficient, and most 'focused' app of any I've ever used. Everybody with the full SF is entitled to use CDA - if you haven't had the pleasure please download it and try it out, and tell Sony if you like it ! geoff Message last edited on1/11/2010 10:32:33 PM byGeoff_Wood. |

I have to agree Geoff, the 'export to CDA' was handy. I don't know why the folks at SCS do what they do. A continuing source of aggravation for many of us. For instance, why were the icons changed in the toolbar??? |

Just had to jump in here and say how much I agree. I thought it would be nice to have DAO capability in Sound Forge, but I end up getting so confused by the current implementation i.e. having to change one setting for CD burning and then switch it back for regular editing and then having to switch between the event view and regular edit view, etc. etc. Its nuts! It just doesn't work at all for me especially when CD Architect does everything so nicely with no hassle. |

Still reminded of that handy feature in previous versions before SF10 ... and even after all those months I agree: 'export to CDA' was handy ! Message last edited on8/12/2010 8:10:14 AM byrsp. |

Which leads the question, what other feature will they remove or change in SF-11? They're turning into sluggish bloatware, other companies of guilty of this as well. |

Changes do not always need to be bad - however removing features must be compensated elsewhere: If SF10 had been given the same features as cd architect it would have been ok to remove that option to export to cdA now you need extra steps which doesn't improve the workflow |
