Hi, im using sound forge 5.0 together with vegas video for my movie and there are some scenes where two people are outside talking and unfortunately they werent as close to the mic as I wanted so it is hard to hear them over the brids and kids in the park where the scene is filmed.

I tried to increase the volume of the whole clip hoping that even though everything would be louder, you would be able to hear better...but is there a way to single out the voice and increase that? I would really appreciate it thank you :)

You may want to experiment with the expander/gate in SF. As the name suggests, this will expand the dynamic range i.e. make loud sounds louder. If the voices are louder that the background at all, you may be able to improve the track. However, to much expansion will result in the background 'pumping' with the voices. Good luck.

You could experiment with the SF noise reduction by taking a "noise print" of the background noise where nobody is talking. This might reduce the background noise enough so you can boost the voices. Pretty much you have a poopoo-in/poopoo-out scenario though, you really are trying to pollish a terd. :-)
