I recently downloaded Acid Pro 3.0 and when installing was prompted to download DirectX 8. Did so and by installing that caused the whole computer system to implode. The only salvation was a registry restoration (tech support for a fee). I'm a little hesitant to try again (make that a lot hesitant). Anyone out there had the same experience? If so, any way around the problem? I'd like to be able to use Acid, but not if I have to go through more hassles.

You may want to contact Microsoft for help with DirectX issues.
