Subject:Silence Added To Beginning And End Of Saved Files

I'm trying to make an MP3 that I can loop in Flash. The problem occurs when I save my new file. Sound Forge adds a small amount of silence to the beginning and end of the file. I don't know how to get rid of this. It makes the file completely usless for the purpose of looping.

Okay. I did some searching on this forum and found my answer: there's no way to keep the silence from occurring since it's part of the MP3 codec.

The problem is that alternatives like .wav .aif are 10 times the file size of MP3. Since my goal is to use these sound files in a web application, size does matter. Anybody have a better solution for creating small looping files?

You could maybe try other compressed formats and see if that works. There are other ones besides MP3 ya know? Try WMA, Sonic Foundry's PCA, AAC, OGG. Or if none of those work you could try creating a mono file with a sample rate of 22Khz or 11Khz wave. Dp I need to go on? Sonic foundry's homepage has a loop on it and it loads up pretty quickly.....my personal preference is that I hate any website that has audio on it. I feel like I'm being force fed their garbage music...If I wanted to listen to your music, I would have taken the time to click on a link and download it.
