Are other DLS "banks" or "soundsets" available for the softsynth? Any tips on creating your own? Thanks, km |

I don't think so. Most users just break down and buy a VST soft synth. Sonoma's KitCore and Garritan's ARIA come with ACID Pro 7. (There's Guitar Combos from Native Instruments too but you don't use MIDI with that other than to change parameters.) A piano and guitar amp plug-in come with ACID Music Studio 8. Iacobus |

I don't think I've ever seen any commercial libraries available in DLS form, but there are a few free ones about. The ability to edit DLS files is one of the new features that was added to Sound Forge 10, if you have that. Mark |

If I remember correctly there were two competing formats way back when, DLS and SoundFonts and SoundFonts won and DLS didn't get much attention with almost no libraries to speak of. If you want 1000's of free high quality sounds, get yourself the free SoundFont player SFZ and Google for free SoundFonts. There are tons and tons of SF2 libraries and some of them are quite good. Two of my favorite sites for SoundFont libraries are HammerSound. Lots and lots of sounds to download. (...i spent a week there one night) ;-) ~jr Message last edited on7/31/2010 6:56:04 AM byJohnnyRoy. |
