Subject:Adding Bass to Narrator's voice

I wanted to add more bass to a narrators voice so I used the EQ--> Graphic EQ feature.. one problem however is that narration now sounds a bit boxy... a slight echo, or as if I were in a hollow space,... Yes, that might be the room (not a sound proof room) or my mike.. but how can I now smooth it out and make the overall sound more crisp and clear? Any suggestions?

Just a guess:
The narrator's voice has little or nothing in the way of low frequency components, or you didn't record properly.
You can't boost what isn't there. Therefore, when you boost the low end of the recording, you are boosting the low end of the room sound (the room has a sound, whether soundproofed or not). This could cause the symptoms you descrbe.
Record the narrator again. Try different mics. Before capturing your killer take, do some testing to see if you're getting the sound you want.

Try cutting some frequencies above the boosted bass , 150 Hz or so. Use a parametric EQ and slide the centre freq up and down a bit, and play with the Q (bandwidth)..

Make sure the lack of bass isn't just your speakers.

A good trick is to copy the track and add the copy back into the mix with the pitch dropped by a few semitones.
