I have Sound Forge 1.1 ( and ACID 4.0 ) .
I am trying to put a little more bass into the voice of a narrator.
Could somebody give me a simple breakdown of how to proceed.
Thanks a lot.

In Sound Forge, process / EQ. Graphic is probably the best choice to start with. Raise some of the lower frequencies until it sounds the way you want it to.

To add to what Kelly said, a 4dB boost at 250 Hz is a good starting point.

Sound Forge 1.1?
Haven't heard of that one.

Hi Kelly,
thanks for your prompt reply. It was quite helpful however, by applying Process, EQ and Graphic and then trying to lower frequencies 1.1 informs me that this version does not allow me to change the default settings.
I guess I have to get a newer version - and will remember the steps you advised.
Thanks again.
Stephan

Well, i have to admit to being a bit confused by "version 1.1". That's incredibly ancient! I'm amazed that anyone still has such an antiquated version in use. I started with Sound Forge XP 4.5 probably close to 15 years ago. It's up to version 10 now.

You can bring up the audio plugin chain in ACID and access EQ that way as well.

My 1.1 and ACID 4.0 were presents. After reading your last comments (you started with 4.5 some 15 years ago) I guess neither one of mine is a Pro version and that is why they are (so) limited.

I am looking into upgrading. Thanks anyway.

I was looking for the same information as Total Newbie.. your input helped a lot... one problem however is that narration now sounds a bit boxy... a slight echo, or as if I were in a hollow space,... Yes, that might be the room (not a sound proof room) or my mike.. but how can I now smooth it out and make the overall sound more crisp and clear?
