I'm very new to Soundforge, if my wave file has background noise below -12db, but the time gap between words are very short, what is the best method to remove the background noise by Soundforge? Please list the steps in details, thanks. |

You'll have better results if the noise itself is a steady noise like hum, air conditioner etc. You have to use the Noise Reduction plug in and 'sample' a bit of the noise itself from a section between words. This sample does not have to be very long. Once this noise print is created, you'll be able to experiment with various levels of noise removal. The more noise removal, the more the 'good' sound will be distorted. You just have to find an acceptable tradeoff. Read the SoundForge help files for step by step instructions. Good luck... Steve |
