Subject:Acid 3.0 -- Will Not Play Wav Files......

Whenever I try to preview a wav file through Acid 3.0 in the explorer window, I get an error that says "An Unsupported Media Type Was Requested" and it's details are "The playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper does not support the current output format." However, the program was working 100% perfect just an hour ago. The only things I can think of that have changed are that I installed Real Media Juke Box....so it changed all wav files to it's default file. However, I changed it back to Window's Media Player, and it still doesn't preview....???? This totally worked fine before. Acid 3 will still open the wav files and loop them fine in a song itself....it's just the preview that's F*'d up. Anyone have any suggestions?? ---- I also just got this error message: "ACID caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 0167:bff9db61. Registers: EAX=c00309c4 CS=0167 EIP=bff9db61 EFLGS=00010212 EBX=042bffbc SS=016f ESP=041bff7c EBP=041c0218 ECX=00000000 DS=016f ESI=00000000 FS=295f EDX=bff76855 ES=016f EDI=bff79050 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: 53 8b 15 e4 9c fc bf 56 89 4d e4 57 89 4d dc 89 Stack dump:" WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING???????? |

Hello, I would reinstall Acid 3 again so it overwrites any changes the other programs made. And also make sure your sound card is still set up correctly in Acid options. You can also go into control panel for Windows in File Options and reassociate wave files with Acid as the default for that file type. See ya |

Well.....I found the problem.....when I went to File/Properties/ and clicked the "Audio" tab....the setting was in 24 bit.....my sound card, as good as it is.....doesn't support 24 bit. So, I changed it. Anyone have any suggestions on sound cards? I am looking to do some (not much) multi track recording (8 tracks), and not sure which, if any of these multi I/O interfaces will work with Acid 3.0. Thanks! |

I have the Delta 1010. It interfaces great with Vegas Audio. You can buy the delta right now with Vegas bundled for under $700.00. This gives you quite a nice set up. You can also chain multiple Delta cards, total of 4 per system. I will check on if ACID 3.0 supports multitrack input, and let you know. |
