Can someone tell me how to set the directory for automatic batching? I want to write a script to convert files that come into a certain directory. I am doing this with 4.5 but I can find only the outgoing directory in the new one.

Thanks

Mindy

The auto-batching feature was eliminated from version 5.0. If you want to auto batch, you'll have to stick with SF 4.5. This feature is the main reason that we use Sound Forge and it's hard to believe they dropped it from the stand alone version of the Batch Converter.

Just curious, since I never used 4.5. What is "auto-batch", and how was it implimented?

Auto-batch is a beautiful thing! It allows you setup SoundForge to 'monitor' a particular directory on a continuous basis in the background. When a file is written to the monitored directory, a script or scripts are performed on that file and the converted file is deposited into a destination directory. We run this on our webserver to generate massive numbers of files in various formats. Autobatching is available in the integrated Batch Converter in SF 4.5. The feature was eliminated from the standalone Batch Converter 5.0.

Probably because it IS a standalone program now.
