stupid question.how do i record? -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:stupid question.how do i record? Posted by: digiman Date:6/29/2001 7:33:58 PM ahoy hoy i have a mini disc recording deck here and i would like to record in wav. on soundforge.how do i do this.i plugged my md deck in the line in of my computer.but nothing on the screen .please help.

Reply by: cjc1103 Date:6/30/2001 8:10:49 AM You have to setup your sound card correctly under Windows first, you may have a bad or incorrect driver loaded. Can you play anything with another program? Got to the Sounds and Multimedia Control Panel, and make sure the Correct audio device is listed for Sound Playback and Recording. Check the Sounds taband play a sample sound to make sure everything is working OK. Then in Sound Forge, select the Options > Preferences menu item, and select the "Wave" tab. The Playback and Record drop down boxes should have an entry for your sound card. I just use the "Microsoft Sound Mapper" option, which seems to work OK.
