Hi, I've been working with loops exclusively but now want to mix in some live musicians. I understand how AP7 converts loops to the key and tempo of the project. Does it also do this as I record live musicians too? I mean if the guitar player isn't tuned exactly to A440 will Acid shift it in an A project? TIA for any input. Brian |

While recording - no. Not unless there develops an anomally in the Time-Space Continuum. Easier to get the guitarist to tune his instrument ! And if it was possible, it would be somewhat mind-bending for the player to be hearing the amp at one pitch and rest of the music and/or his guitar at a different one. geoff Message last edited on7/13/2010 4:45:50 PM byGeoff_Wood. |

Geoff, OK, so maybe I'll put in a feature request. :-) Thanks for the response. Brian |

It sounds like you need pitch correction - not necessarily pitch shifting. At any rate, for this you need to use hardware/outboard pitch correction units - probably one for each player if its really bad. I think it would be cheaper and much less stressful to just find musicians that can play and sing in tune. For the price of a couple of those units you could hire a studio player to come in and record the parts you need - in tune and played correctly. What a concept! ;-) Message last edited on7/13/2010 6:48:57 PM bydrbam. |
