Am I going about this completely the wrong way or what? I'm trying to record a mix set from MD (about 60 mins) but SoundForge will only let me record about 44 mins (44k, 16 bit). I can't adjust the available size of the temporary filespace and there is plenty of drivespace. Don't make me record in 8 bit or mono - that is just wrong!!!! |

Fatlorrette, Don't be so sure it's SF's problem. SF doesn't have any special brickwall feature that will stop you from recording after a certain amount of time. That is, except the "PUNCH- IN" feature. Make sure your recording "MODE" is set for something other than "PUNCH-IN", such as "AUTO RETAKE" or "MULTI TAKE" if you want to dictate when a recording stops. Exactly how much disk space do you have? What may seem like a lot may not be enough. Are there any messages that pop up when your recording stops? What version of Windows are you using? Win9x OS's only allow 4GB files or smaller (or 2GB, depending). Check up on this information and see if any of the pieces fit. Nick LaMartina |

I am also having the same problem recording Live sets. Initially I suspected that once the input on the audio line in went silent, that soundforge stopped recording. I have tried everything, I have about 12GB free, im recording at 44.1 16K, stereo. I've tried multiple takes, auto retake, and even punch-in doesn't record as long as it says it should. All that happens is the soundforge recording box just stops, as if someone has walked by and hit the stop botton in your absense. it sits there, waiting for you to push record again. totally rediculous. |

Abysm, What OS are you using? Do you have any screen savers or power down features activated? Nick LaMartina |

I doubt that this is a sound forge problem. I have recorded several times for over 75 min. at a time with no problems. This sounds like a setting is wrong somewhere in windows. |
