I have somehow managed to talk myself into adding music to some of the web videos published on my employer's website (automotive flavoured). To test Acid and mine's ability to do this I was given a test video to play with. First hurdle appears immediately. Video is an .flv file and Acid doesn't open those. Convert file to .mov and it opens in Acid. Can see frame by frame vid and the voiceover is in a separate lane..Fantastic! I add some music and it's all going surprising well. I save the project as a .mov and play it...uh oh...the voice-over now sounds out of phase or something...not nice. So i resave as a .wmv and the sound is much better but there's no vision. I'm not experienced with producing music to vision in Acid. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can someone please give me some pointers on this. And if someone could recommend some good video file conversion software? Thanks! |

If I recall, I could have sworn ACID could work with Flash movies/animations (which is what the FLV file is). It's been awhile though since working with that format. You might need the actual Flash project rather than the "rendered" video that's being used for the Web page. ACID can't render as WMV; only WMA (which is the audio component). Your best bet is to use the video track in ACID as a reference and then render out the audio in a file format such as WAV for use in other applications like Vegas (either Pro or Movie Studio should suit you well) for the purpose of rendering out the whole thing as one multimedia file with both video and audio. The one thing to keep in mind: Keep everything as pristine as possible before the final multimedia file is produced. (For example, render out your audio as WAV in ACID for use in Vegas; if you can, get the original video and capture/transfer that into your Vegas project.) HTH, Iacobus |
