Have had a recurring problem for awhile. I use Acid 6 at a radio station group for multi-tk commercial production. Computer runs on XP sp3. I've noticed that when I use some plugins such as Wavehammer and a couple others it triggers winhlp32.exe to run slowing down my processor dramatically. I cure it by going into the taskmgr and stopping the winhlp32.

Anyone run across this or would know why it get triggered by applying plugins?

Isn't winhlp32.exe that Windows help app that helps launch info about a plug-in when one clicks the "?" in a window? (I always thought it ran in the background regardless but then again I'm no coding propellerhead.) Not sure how to go about making it not launch as you'd probably get an error otherwise.

It comes up a lot for me when using Vegas & Sound Forge, almost every time i do something that causes a sub-window to open. It hardly takes any CPU cycles though. I don't notice any difference with it running vs. not running. The only reason i kill it at all is because it offends me to have a process i'm not using sitting there in memory. Generally though laziness wins out and i don't bother.
