Subject:Midi File Not Playing Properly

I've got a midi file that I'm trying to work on and it's not playing properly in ACID. It plays fine in Sound Forge and in Winamp. In ACID, the sound is muddled/muffled. Almost sounds like it's playing at very slow speed. I've played this midi in ACID before and it was fine. On the timeline, the length of the track is right. It just doesn't play properly. I've checked some of the Preferences to make sure it's using the right sound card, etc.

Thanks.

Sound Forge cannot play midi files, so my guess is that this is not a MIDI file. What makes you believe it is a MIDI file?

ACID is probably time stretching the audio file. You should mark the file as a disk file a set ACID not to time stretch.

What makes me thing it's a midi file? The .mid file extension? Maybe? It is a midi file.

And yes, sorry for the confusion. It was a WAV file rendered out of ACID from the midi previously that I opened in Sound Forge. I was trying to determine if it was a problem with my sound card or ACID.

In the end, it appears the ACID install had become corrupted. Or at least the soft synths had become corrupted. Uninstalled and reinstalled and it's fine now.
