Subject:recording problem

Hey all,
I have been using Acid to record for a while now, unfortunatly my system crached and I was forced to reinstall Windows (ME).
Now when I go to record the new part (guitar part) it is playing way off beat with the rest of the track.
I have made sure that I have not checked "make new track follow tempo" . I have also restored all the defaults to my soundcard.
I am totally lost (and very frustrated) any help would make my day
