I reported a bug with the chopper window and shortcut not copying data in AP7. Sony responded it was a known problem, and would be fixed in a future release, yadayadayada. OK, the future release is *HERE*. Does anyone know if the bug has been fixed? To reproduce the problem, make a selection in the chopper window, then, instead of dragging it to the time line with the mouse, use the right-mouse button and accompanying context menu to copy the chop to the clipboard, then paste it onto the time line with CTRL/B and use the end-to-end option. The bug would copy the amount of ticks in the chopper window that were selected, but no waveform data would be copied, so the resultant paste would be silent. If some AMS8 user could tell me if this has been fixed, it would warrant the upgrade. Thanks in advance. |

I wouldn't exactly call Music Studio 8 an upgrade from Pro 7; more like a downgrade, since Music Studio is the "consumer" version of ACID. (Don't look to do 24-bit/96 kHz in Music Studio, as a huge example.) I don't have any idea if Music Studio 8 has the Chopper issue fixed or not (since I don't use it). Iacobus |

Thanks, MD, that's exactly what I thought, but going on the assumption that it never hurts to ask, I asked. SO far haven't heard a word, not to mention even a syllable, about a Pro update. I even re-submitted my problem as a question about a Pro upgrade and have gotten no reply. No matter, I'll just go on using my other product. |

Historically - from Sony - like Adobe - you will never hear about a major upgrade prior to it's actual arrival. And that's a good thing - a great thing actually. It keeps the user base from going into a hyper-active state with all the "Is it here yet?" crap.... I love just logging in one day and seeing "Acid Pro 8 Now Available".... AP7 was released on Oct 30, 2008 as I recall....so there is most likely something on the distant horizon.... Cheers, VP |
